Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrão, the President of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) and Archbishop of Goa and Daman, led the launch of a special book honoring St. Francis Xavier, titled Francis Xavier – DNA of a Saint.
The limited-edition publication, released on Nov. 28, 2024, coincided with the 18th Exposition of the Sacred Relics of St. Francis Xavier, according to a report by Catholic Connect.
The book, published by The Goan newspaper, is described as “a tribute and a reflection on the profound impact St. Francis Xavier has had on the world and the vibrant cultural and spiritual fabric of Goa.”
It includes a collection of reflections and messages from Pope Francis, two cardinals, an archbishop, and an auxiliary bishop, offering readers a unique insight into St. Francis Xavier’s enduring impact.
The 202-page book features 25 insightful articles on St. Francis Xavier’s life and work, 21 fascinating details about his legacy, and a stunning collection of 86 photographs and 57 images.
Among them are 28 rare visuals from past Expositions at Old Goa, making it a visual and narrative treasure for devotees and history enthusiasts alike.
The book’s publisher highlights its significance: “Together, these elements paint a vivid portrait of St. Francis Xavier, showcasing his ability to bridge communities, inspire faith, and spark cultural connections.”
Hundreds of pilgrims attending the Exposition have eagerly purchased the book, viewing it as a cherished memento of their spiritual journey.
